I designed this character years ago. He finally appears in a post! I have more hair props now; I could change his hair.

I thought Elena was a good, common, pretty name that I’d somehow never used for one of my characters. Oh, yeah, that’s why. Well, the names are different in rhythm and syllable length, so it didn’t occur to me until later.

Well, I came up with a name for this character, finally.

Today I was playing around with Victoria 4 character design again.

I don’t know what to call this one. Give me a name? Ponytail girl here is in danger of being named either “Pony” or “Marisu.”

cut for size )

Sorry, still posting "filler." This is the shot I've been cutting out pieces of the last two days. I'm posting the double-scale version here instead of one cut down to 612*836.

I am still photoshop trash. This one is a little bigger than usual. I decided not to scale it down to my usual "comic page" dimensions after designing it.

It’s too early in March and this scene made me feel cold.
raspberryrain: (funky)

I have generally kept cartoon Nia’s hair in twists or braids to avoid giving it a definite texture. A few years ago I tried giving my cartoon self a very straight hairstyle; I didn’t like it as much as I expected.

I think this type hair more blatantly tips my avatar’s ethnic coding away from “Mediterranean” & toward “West Indian,” but I guess the twists did that anyway.

Today I played with this lighting setup on different figures.

One of these days I shall have to do an actual comic with Fraise in it. One of these days I shall have to do an actual comic.

It's pretty late. Have a render for the day.
raspberryrain: (outdoor)

Is this a reasonable early spring fashion, or just silly? I don’t even know. I do daily renders to make myself do work, not because the average quality of the work is any better.

Dressing Creedence today, I was restricting myself to clothing figures by a single artist (3D-Age); and, perhaps as importantly, figures I already had loaded into my runtime; or this might have been very different. Once I decided to put other figures over the bodysuit, it went…this way.

I hope it’s at least cute.

nudity )

I was blocked today, so I opened up an old scene, thought I might just shoot it from a different angle. Well, it’s more than a new angle after all.
raspberryrain: GIF (blink)

I actually posed and rendered this scene early today, and decided not to publish it. It started as just one of those scenes I put together for myself, comparing different character designs side by side. I didn't think it was worth publishing.

That said, while I was working on it, I went looking at 3D-Age's Renderosity store, thinking about getting some more virtual clothes. 3D-Age is having a 60% off sale? Prae has some big markdowns, too!?

Anyhow, the clothes in this happen all to be 3D-Age. That's why I'm posting it. So if you use Victoria 4 or a figure that can adapt Vicki 4 clothes, this may be a good day to take a look.

There are a few hours left. Too bad I am basically broke. Oh, well, I already have a lot of the useful 3D-Age stuff, anyway.

Not nude, but I'm making a cut anyway. )

Two days ago, I tagged a post ‘daily render.’ So of course I missed the next day.

I don’t know if you’ll see this character again. She may not be finished, really, but I think I’ll mostly leave her as she is now. I meant her to be a little fatter when I started working on this design a few hours ago, but she seems all right for what I wanted, which was sort of a generic brown voluptuous figure.

And her name is whatever you want to call her, unless I relent and bring her into the comic strip. As of now, she’s a player character for a game I expect I’ll never make.
