This is where I'm getting ticked off at new Tumblr—prude Tumblr?—unTumblr.

Heavy cream, strawberry light was an image I rendered in March of 2017. I posted it on Tumblr and on dA. It has nipples, but it is not a photograph. It is not sexual content. It does not seem particularly in violation of the sudden new rules. It is not something I expect to be be flagged, given other things that have passed. But it, on appeal, was arbitrarily declared "adult," and that is that. Since the appeals are allegedly judged by humans, that means it was a snap judgement call. I can't count on something passing if it's too close to the line, even if some things do.

I had an idea to censor it, to see how it would go. I have replaced the original on my tumblr with the censored version you see here. So far, Tumblr's system seems fine with that. But in the process, I found two more posts flagged, that I had already checked and thought were OK. They were restored on appeal—this time. How do I know that posts I thought were OK will be OK tomorrow?

Tumblr is over.

And yeah, this being OK and the original being blocked is really offensive to me.

I didn’t get something new done for Saturday, so I thought I’d shoot a new angle on a scene from back in March, at least getting a quick post from it. And I ran over into Sunday anyway.

I should just take my time and do better art, right? I’m the only one who cares about trying to post this often.

I was looking through some old shots yesterday and realised I could use this as filler. Then this morning I was listening to TEDx talks and not doing any artwork, which is probably better than playing video games and not doing any artwork. I need to get a second computer again so I can have YouTube running on one while I work on the other.

And May Day is a good time for a “hot weather” shot, anyway.

I’m not really happy with the hand position, but I’m just going to post this anyway.

This shot was in shadow and I decided not to use it two days ago for composition reasons. Today I brightened it up in Photoshop. The room looks a bit greener now due to tweaking levels for contrast.

Evdokía got pretty close to the pose she had in ‘A cool and cloudy day in April’—different top, the sun lower in sky, different location, and I didn’t get the same camera angle, but it’s a pretty close reprise.

Since it was so popular last time (as if), I'm revisiting my scene of Pankhi with a basketball. I may be unwell and lazy, but I insist on posting something every day this July.

This time I changed out one silly abstract background for a totally different one.
