Wheel of Rebeccapurple-like colours
Oct. 28th, 2019 02:49 pmThinking about Rebeccapurple, from a colour design standpoint. It seems like a moderately saturated, moderately bright wisteria purple. Let’s see what other colours have a 51, 102, 153 mix.
Wow, these seem surprisingly muddy to me. I thought they’d be brighter. Is it my monitor?
I guess you can’t expect that much from 2/3 saturation & 3/5 brightness. But the purple seems to work well. Maybe it’s just that high purple energy, or maybe it’s just me.
If you don't know the term rebeccapurple, it's been in html/css for about five years now. There's a story behind it.
I discovered it while reading up on colour names this autumn.
